Carmen Chorus!

April 24th, 2008 by mco

The Maritime Concert Opera chorus is starting up rehearsals again, this time for our upcoming production of Bizet’s Carmen.  The MCOC meets on Monday nights, from 7:30 to 9:30, at Zion Lutheran Church in Lunenburg, under the direction of our new chorus conductor Rachel Grantham, and rehearsal accompanist Jane Christiansen.

We’re also looking for children for the children’s chorus, who will perform just in the June 21st performance in Lunenburg.

If you’d like to join us, please email Chorus Coordinator Heather O’Dell.

Here are the pieces we’ll be performing:

“The Law is the true embodiment”
.”My lords, it may not be”
Act I FINALE
“When all night long a chap remains”
“Love, unrequited, robs me of my rest” … “When you’re lying awake”
“My lord, a suppliant at your feet”
“It may not be”
“Soon as we may, off and away”

“A Wand’ring Minstrel I”
“Behold the Lord High Executioner”
“As some day it may happen”

“Brightly dawns our wedding day”
“Here’s a how-de-do”
